Slow Cooked Spiced Apple Oats

Serves 4


1/2 c apple sauce/pureed apple

1/2 c steel cut oats*

1 tb ghee or butter

2 c milk of choice (I use almond milk)

1/2 tsp cinnamon

2 tb maple syrup or honey

Berries and nuts to serve

*Steel cut oats can be found at health food stores or The Source Bulk Foods


  1. Place ingredients into a 1 litre ceramic bowl that will fit inside the insert of your slow cooker.
  2. Fill the slow cooker with water until it comes half way up the ceramic bowl containing the ingredients.
  3. Place the lid on the slow cooker and turn on low. Cook for 8 hours (overnight)
  4. Serve the oats in bowls with berries and nuts, or toppings of your choice.
  5. Enjoy!
